The Business Council of Australia (BCA) welcomes the opportunity to input into the General Review of the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
At a time of global economic uncertainty, the need to diversify and strengthen Australia’s trade and investment relationships and demonstrate tangible gains from rules-based trade has never been greater.
In February 2026, the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) hosted the inaugural Indonesia-Australia Business Roundtable at its annual flagship Indonesia Economic Summit in Jakarta. The Roundtable was co-chaired by Professor Jennifer Westacott AC, Australia’s Business Champion for Indonesia, and Dr William Sabandar, Chief Operating Officer of the IBC, and was attended by the BCA, alongside senior Indonesian and Australian representatives.
This submission is the outcome of key points raised during the Roundtable and is endorsed by the Business Council of Australia.
