The BCA is strongly of the view that Australia must focus on delivering housing supply that is sufficient to meet the needs of the nation’s population going forward.

We are failing to meet this challenge, with dwelling approvals at decade lows. We believe that the Plan should be clear that the delivery of more market-rate housing expands the entire stock and therefore assists in affordability across the market.

Beyond this, the central issue that must be resolved is fixing the nation’s planning systems.
