Submission to the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy on the NBN Implementation Study
31 May 2010
This submission to the federal government says that the findings of the National Broadband Network (NBN) Implementation Study confirm the need for a cost–benefit analysis of the project to demonstrate it is in the national interest.
The NBN Implementation study’s findings raise important questions about the viability of the NBN and the consistency of policy recommendations with the government’s competition policy obligations.
The BCA submission highlights that it will be important that the government applies competitive neutrality policy to all its Government Business Enterprises, including the NBN Co., and fulfils its commitment to report regularly on the outcomes.
