The Business Council of Australia (BCA) welcomes the opportunity to provide the Government with comments to inform the development of the Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. As the countries of Southeast Asia continue to develop and grow, this presents major economic opportunities, and the BCA welcomes the Government’s decision to develop an economic strategy for the region.

Southeast Asia offers significant economic opportunities which many leading Australian businesses are actively pursuing. To realise the full potential of these opportunities, the Government should work collaboratively with business and develop innovative approaches to overcome the barriers that exist for building greater two-way trade and investment activity.
