Submission to the review of tax and corporate whistleblower protections in Australia

The Business Council has made asubmission to The Treasury’s Review of Tax and Corporate Whistleblower Protections in Australia.
Whisteblowers play an important role in helping detect instances of corporate and tax misconduct. Corporate and tax misconduct is not only damaging to the business that is the victim of the offence, it is detrimental to the entire economy.
We support strengthening Australia’s whistle blower protection regime for individuals reporting credible information about corporate misconduct by addressing gaps in the current framework and bringing protections into line with international best practice.
