Submission to the Senate Inquiry into the Fair Work (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Bill

15 April 2009

The BCA is satisfied that, through a government–business consultation process, many issues within the Fair Work Bill appear to have been addressed.

However, the BCA does have some concerns about the content of the Transitional Provisions Bill, including the delays that its members experience in obtaining approval for agreements from the Workplace Authority Director.

There are still significant gaps in the detail concerning the implementation of the new legislative regime.

These gaps are to be filled by regulations. Business is asking for an opportunity to provide meaningful input into the development of the proposed regulations.
