Submission on the Indigenous Jobs and Training Review ‘Creating Parity’ Report
19 September 2014
Submission to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet on Creating Parity, the Report of Indigenous Jobs and Training Review
This submission commends the Creating Parity report for recognising the need for an holistic policy framework to address the factors behind the disparity in employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
In line with the BCA’s original submission to the Forrest review, this submission focuses specifically on the employment, training and procurement policies discussed in the Creating Parity report, in particular:
- the role of government procurement in stimulating employment and Indigenous business development
- boosting the contribution of the top 200 employers
- supporting employers to grow Indigenous employment through career and training pathways.
