Submission on the Competition Policy Review Draft Report
20 November 2014
The draft report of the Competition Policy Review has set out essential reforms for the reinvigoration of microeconomic reform that will improve competition and boost Australia’s global competitive position.
The Business Council of Australia supports the majority of recommendations put forward in the draft report, and urges governments to get on with the job of policy reform and implementation.
While our submission focuses on specific recommendations with which we do not agree, on most issues we are in strong agreement with the panel and encourage it to focus the final report on substantive microeconomic policy reforms that will deliver a wide range of benefits to consumers and the economy.
