Submission to the Productivity Commission Review of Barriers to Business Entries and Exits in the Australian Economy

Australia needs a vibrant, dynamic business environment that drives economic growth and job creation.

To achieve this, policies should need to encourage business innovation and productivity growth by allowing resources to flow efficiently and not unduly prevent or slow the creation of new businesses, or the restructuring of existing businesses, aiming to succeed in competitive markets.

This submission recommends policy changes to lower barriers to business entry and exit, including policies that aim to:

•    Create a more competitive business environment, such as reinvigorating national competition policy.
•    Reduce specific regulatory barriers to business entry and exit.
•    Improve business access to government information.
