Statement from BCA Chief Executive Jennifer Westacott on the Decision by Heather Ridout to Move on from the Australian Industry Group

“I congratulate Heather Ridout for a remarkable career with the Australian Industry Group including almost eight years as its Chief Executive Officer.

Heather has made an outstanding contribution on behalf of her members to debates about the policies that are required to lift Australia’s productivity and maintain business competitiveness.

Under her leadership the Australian Industry Group has been a welcome partner of the Business Council of Australia in highlighting the important contribution of business to the economy in creating wealth that is shared by the community.

More than three decades at the forefront of business and economic issues, including how fiscal and monetary policy impact on business decisions, means she will make a valuable contribution to the Reserve Bank of Australia Board.

I wish her well in her future career.”
