National Cabinet has released a three-step roadmap to re-open the economy.
This is an important milestone in our journey to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the three stages will give the community and business confidence while also respecting the important advice from our health professionals.
Easing of restrictions will be guided by state and territory leaders to suit their local circumstances with the goal to move through all the steps and achieve a COVIDSafe economy by July.
The Morrison Government has announced a JobKeeper payment to provide a wage subsidy to about 6 million workers who will receive a flat payment of $1,500 per fortnight through their employer, before tax.
The payment is open to eligible businesses that receive a significant financial hit caused by the coronavirus.

Federal travel restrictions
All travellers arriving in Australia are required to undertake a mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated facilities (for example, a hotel), in their port of arrival.

A ‘do not travel’ ban is also in place on Australians travelling overseas.

SafeWork Australia has developed a business resource kit includes a range of resources for business to download and display in their workplaces, including checklists, infographics, fact sheets for industry and posters on handwashing, hygiene and physical distancing.
