Vision for a Competitive Australia: Speech by Catherine Livingstone to the AICC

This speech, ‘Vision for a Competitive Australia’, was delivered by Catherine Livingstone AO, President, Business Council of Australia, to the Australia–Israel Chamber of Commerce in Sydney on 28 July 2014.

In her first major speech as BCA President, Ms Livingstone released a landmark research paper calling for a radical rethink of how Australia understands its economy and plans for wealth creation.

The paper, Building Australia’s Comparative Advantages, is supported by research undertaken by McKinsey & Company that provides a baseline perspective of Australia’s international competitiveness by sector, and an insight into where we can succeed at a global scale.
