Submission on New South Wales Design and Place SEPP
28 February 2022
The delays and costs imposed by the NSW Planning System are outsized compared to other jurisdictions. In this context the Business Council is concerned about the impacts of the proposed Design and Place SEPP exacerbating this further. Additional work should be undertaken to assess the burden that the proposed SEPP would place on industry. If the SEPP does proceed, a phase-in period should also be considered. The Business Council encourages the Department to instead look at incentivising good outcomes, rather than adding further complications to the system.
