Submission to the Joint Select Committee Inquiry into the New South Wales Workers Compensation Scheme

The Business Council of Australia welcomes the commitment of the New South Wales Government to improving the performance of the WorkCover system.

This BCA submission states the current design and operation of the scheme are not sustainable and are out of step with those in operation in other states.

The evidence suggests it is a major and rising cost on the state’s employers, does not sufficiently provide the right incentives, and is not providing the opportunities New South Wales workers need to support them in an early return to work.
