Submission in support of ratification of the Paris Agreement

The Business Council of Australia supports the Australian Government’s decision to ratify the Paris Agreement.
The Business Council considers that with a suite of national, durable post-2020 climate change policies, that build on existing regulatory frameworks and are integrated with broader energy policy, Australia can meet its Paris Agreement commitments while maintaining its international competitiveness and achieving sustainable economic growth.
This submission briefly discusses the importance of the Paris Agreement and the key challenges that will arise as Australia strives to meet its targets.
The Business Council looks forward to participating in the development and implementation of the policies that Australia needs to achieve our emission reduction targets.
