As part of broader reform to EPBC Act processes through the One-Stop Shop initiative, the draft conditions policy aims to improve administration of environmental assessments by establishing the Commonwealth approach to setting conditions.

There is substantial opportunity to improve the efficiency of the EPBC Act's assessment regime and the application of conditions, without compromising existing levels of environmental protection.

The Business Council welcomes progress to date on the One Stop Shop and supports the development of the conditions policy as an essential part of the initiative.

This submission suggests the policy should consider all areas of concern around condition setting, including the content and number of conditions.
