Sustainable planning for growth
Australia’s planning and infrastructure systems play a critical role in ensuring future development serves to improve the living standards of all Australians. They must ensure development keeps pace with the needs of a growing population and economy
The Business Council researches and advocates for policies that promote:
- well-managed population growth
- a focus on temporary and permanent skilled migration that grows the capacity of Australia’s economy and address skills shortages, and which complements our skills development agenda for Australian workers
- long term, integrated strategic land use planning
- effective infrastructure planning, prioritisation and project delivery
- efficient use of existing infrastructure
- housing affordability
- efficient project approvals processes
- liveable, sustainable and productive cities and regions
- Strong governance and institutions
