The Business Council is calling on the NSW Parliament to pass the Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Bill 2025 before the end of the year to ensure the sustainability of the scheme for workers and protect businesses from significant premium hikes.
Businesses are concerned that rising premium pressure within the New South Wales Workers Compensation Scheme is unsustainable and will increase the cost of doing business and drive investment away.
Addressing this concern is now urgent – we must continue to support workers most in need while also reducing the impact of unmeritorious claims which are placing pressure on premiums.
The BCA is calling on the NSW Parliament to support this Bill and pass the important reforms.
Without these reforms, businesses will face added premium pressure, making it harder to invest, employ and grow – with broader impacts for consumers across the state.
