Business calls on leaders to stick to the national reopening targets which provide a vaccination path to greater freedoms at 70 and 80 per cent coverage, Business Council of Australia chief executive Jennifer Westacott said.
Unions and business are committed to working cooperatively with governments to keep workplaces safe and to achieve the highest possible rates of vaccination though building confidence in the vaccination program and supporting workers to get vaccinated.
“The Senate has voted tonight to support the government’s common-sense changes that restore the ability of companies to use electronic signatures during the pandemic and hold virtual annual general meetings,’’ Business Council of Australia president Tim Reed said.
The Business Council strongly supports the NSW government’s measures to speed up the safe return of construction workers from affected parts of Sydney to building sites through minimum vaccination requirements.
“The government’s well-considered and targeted Closing the Gap investment represents a partnership with Indigenous Australians which will help empower Indigenous communities through local solutions,’’ Business Council of Australia president Tim Reed said.
