Letter to review Sustainability Collaborations and Australia Competition Law
01 August 2024
The Business Council of Australia (BCA) welcomes the opportunity to provide comment on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) Sustainability Collaborations and Australian Competition Law - A guide for business (the proposed guide).
We welcome development of a guide addressing collaboration on sustainability initiatives and Australia's competition laws. The unprecedented scale, breadth and complexity of the net zero transition means that while competition remains the driving force in the economy, there are circumstances where cooperation between businesses to achieve positive sustainability outcomes results in net benefits. Businesses must be able to engage in such collaborations confidently, and doing so will assist with Australia's transition to a net zero economy.
