Letter to review Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013
15 April 2018
In our submission to the Independent Review of the Public Governance Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (the Review), the Business Council has made a number of suggestions on how to ensure Australia continues to have an accountable, efficient and transparent government sector:
- Put in place stronger mechanisms to measure and report on the cumulative burden of new and existing regulations
- Provide for clear responsibilities between government agencies
- Engage in genuine policy consultation before policy decisions have been made, and
- Expand the Regulatory Performance Framework so that it applies to all Australian Government entities that have significant dealings with the public.
