The Business Council of Australia (BCA) welcomes the opportunity to provide comment on the Future Made in Australia (Guarantee of Origin) Bill 2024 (and related bills).

We note that this package of bills is enabling legislation and that the detailed legislative rules governing the operation of Australia's Guarantee of Origin (GO) scheme will be developed and consulted upon in the first half of 2025.

BCA supports the development and progress of Australia's GO scheme, as one of a suite of important policy elements required to pursue our net zero objectives efficiently, effectively and equitably.
