Business Regulation

Regulation should be designed to deliver important protections to society without unduly harming productivity or adding to business costs - which in turn impacts negatively on job creation and consumer welfare.

The Business Council advocates for the improved design and efficiency of business regulation through:

  • an effective and ongoing program of regulation reform across all jurisdictions
  • strengthening best practice regulation processes
  • improving regulator performance.

The BCA Secretariat contact for business regulation policy issues is Simon Pryor, Executive Director, Infrastructure and Regulation.
