BHP set to build on its success with new leader
14 November 2019
BHP is at the heart of the Australian economy and we are pleased one of the nation’s biggest employers will continue to be in good hands under the leadership of Mike Henry, Business Council chief executive Jennifer Westacott said.
“Mike will carry on BHP’s success and enormous contribution to the nation which has been driven by Andrew Mackenzie’s vision and strong leadership.
“Andrew has transformed BHP and ensured it has remained a world leader in the highly competitive global resources sector. We should all be proud of his achievements.
“Under Mike, BHP will continue as a great Australian company, employing nearly 40,000 people, breathing life into regional towns and cities and bringing value to customers and shareholders.
“BHP is an Australian institution with a history of helping Australians and their families build better lives.
“We look forward to working with Mike to position Australia to make the most of the future so all Australians can get ahead.
“Andrew has been an active and thoughtful member of the Business Council and he has also been an outstanding corporate leader who has made a significant contribution to the nation. We wish him well.”
