The Business Council of Australia today welcomed the release of the Australian Research Council’s report Investing in Our Future.

The Executive Director of the BCA, Mr David Buckingham, said the information on patent activity provided clear benchmarks on Australian innovation, and was a timely follow-up to the recent national Innovation Summit.

“Building on our identified strengths in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, while at the same time improving in electronics and telecommunications, will be key to improving Australia’s economic position and global competitiveness,” he said.
