AGL investment plan the right way forward for NSW
09 December 2017
AGL’s plan to replace their ageing and unreliable Liddell coal-fired plant with a mix of renewables, gas and storage is the sort of innovation we will see under the National Energy Guarantee, Business Council chief executive Jennifer Westacott said today.
“Energy companies cannot be expected to replace like with like when there is more efficient, reliable and affordable generation technology available,” Ms Westacott said.
“AGL’s plan will deliver secure and reliable energy to consumers while also helping to meet Australia’s carbon abatement commitments.
“This is just the sort of innovative mix of technologies that we expect the National Energy Guarantee to support when it is implemented.”
