Scott Thompson | Director, Member Engagement and Strategy
Scott Thompson joined the Business Council of Australia in July 2006.
Prior to the Business Council Scott lead lobbying, corporate issues and reputation management, complex stakeholder engagement and integrated public advertising and marketing campaigns for a major public affairs agency. Achievements included managing the collapse of builders warranty insurance for Victorian Building Commission, leading the Victorian Government's problem gambling communication campaign, building a PR function for IOOF, establishing Wizard Home Loans' corporate affairs strategy; and helping ABN AMRO deliver successful public private partnership projects.
Scott began his career in journalism, working for 14 years on several major newspapers including The Herald Sun, The Age and The Sunday Age, and The Sunday Herald. He was a member of Fairfax Media and News Limited investigative teams; and led coverage of politics, social and urban issues, industrial relations including the 1990s waterfront dispute, and court stories including the Jaidyn Leskie murder case.
Scott holds a Master of Communication from RMIT University.
