Submission to the House of Representatives Joint Standing Committee on Treaties regarding the ASEAN–Australia–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement

April 2009

The Business Council of Australia supports Australia being a party to the ASEAN–Australia–New Zealand Free Trade Area Agreement recently signed by the federal government Minister for Trade, Simon Crean.

If the agreement is ratified and comes into force, it will provide some significant new commercial opportunities for businesses, and generate additional economic benefits for the people of the nations involved.
