Budgeting for Prosperity

Reference to the BCA submission to the 2008–09 Budget is made in an article titled ‘True Confessions of a Benevolent Dictator: Rudd’s 100 Days’ by Tom Dusevic, The Australian Financial Review, 3 March 2008.

‘By the mid-January deadline, Treasury had received 5050 submissions (the previous year it was a mere 172). All that material, presumably, requires sifting; only one, for instance, carries the letterhead of the Business Council of Australia – guaranteed to reach the Treasurer’s desk.’
