Katie Lahey: ‘Business has a role and a responsibility to be involved in education, including input into curriculum, employing graduates, identifying skills shortages and serving on university councils. However, business doesn’t always find it easy to engage in the academic world. The language, time frames and drivers are often different and business leaders can struggle to add value … We’ve suggested a focus on strengthening teaching and on learning the employability skills needed for effective leadership management.’
