Review of Grants Process

The BCA’s position on the need for reform of Commonwealth–state fiscal relations was mentioned in The Australian Financial Review in an article titled ‘BCA Backs State Grants Reform’ by Lenore Taylor, 22 February 2008:

‘The moves are exactly in line with longstanding BCA calls for reform of federal payments to the states to make them simpler and reduce administrative costs.The BCA has also called for SPPs [special purpose payments] to be confined to ears where there is a clear national policy objective …’
