Publicly Funded Maternity Leave

The BCA comments on proposals by the federal government to conduct an inquiry into maternity leave arrangements in an article titled ‘Maternity Leave Gets Check-Up’ by Caitlin O’Toole, The Australian Financial Review, 1 February 2008.

‘The Business Council of Australia, a group of chief executives of Australia’s largest companies, said it would be interested in the [federal government] inquiry’s findings in terms of how a publicly funded scheme would work alongside existing privately funded arrangements. Managing the impact of publicly funded maternity leave would also be important, BCA spokesman Scott Thompson said.’
