Business Council of Australia director of policy Maria Tarrant said business considered it to be a very important meeting as a test of the new cooperative federalism. “What you would hope is as a result of the new thinking around federal–state relations you might have the potential to accelerate some of these projects. We would be very keen to see at the end of the ministerial meeting … a simple explanation of what is going to happen in the next six months, the outcomes that we can expect from those activities and the review points so we can track progress.”
