Social Prosperity: Comments by Michael Chaney
As he describes it, there has been a ‘remarkable sea change’ in the attitude of business to social issues and to providing social support to the community. A decade ago, he says, business people would have considered that was the role and responsibility of governments. ‘Today, no one would say that. Everyone recognises that business has a role to play in providing social support in the sense that a healthy society is good for business … on the whole, in Australia, in my experience, people are starting to recognise that business is doing more than just earning profits’.
