The Regulatory Blow-Out
The Federal Parliament passed as many pages of legislation in 2000 to 2003 as it had passed in the first 69 years of the existence of the Commonwealth, according to the Business Council of Australia, “even though during this 69-year period Australia experienced the creation of the Commonwealth, both world wars, the Depression and postwar reconstruction”.
