Our Board
The Business Council of Australia Board oversees the work of the BCA Secretariat and task forces, makes recommendations on issues concerning membership and committee and task force appointments, identifies and clarifies policy issues, and proposes the BCA policy agenda.
The President of the Business Council of Australia is Tony Shepherd AO, who was elected to the position in November 2011. Tony has been the chairman of Transfield Services since 2005 after an extensive executive career with the company beginning in 1979. Tony has pioneered private sector development and ownership of infrastructure in Australia and has been involved in nation building for most of his career. He is a Director of Virgin Australia International Holdings Pty Ltd, Chairman of the GWS Giants, a Director of Migration Council Australia and a Patron of Infrastructure Partnerships Australia. In June 2012 Tony was named as an Officer of the Order of Australia.
